nicholasinskiからの質問: I think a good way to remember -てみる is that it conveniently (albeit accidentally) means basically the same thing as "_ and see (what happens)" and it's made up of the te form + "to see". When my professor had me read in class, I'd always say, "はい、読んでみます!" - "Okay, I'll read (and see how I do)." Another example could be: 「せっかく作ったケーキを食べてみてくれる?」...

匿名からの質問: Neither of you seem to really have been studying Japanese for very long and are still at a rather beginner level. Don't you think it would be better to wait to teach or answer questions about grammar, etc. until you have more experience? Anyhow, the てみる structure means "to try." Ex. またやってみます。 I'll try again.
